People often ask what the parabatai ceremony looks like, so I asked Cassandra Jean to render Emma and Julian’s, complete with the oath and the the three rings of fire — you step from your individual ring into the shared ring, and you draw the rune on each other. Don’t try the fire part at home.

Last of the TMI flower cards by Cassandra Jean — Maia (who’s been posted before) and Bat. Moving on to TID!

Almost to the end of the flower card pictures! (If you want to see all of them you can check the flowers tag on my tumblr or the Cassandra Jean page on the amazing Shadowhunter wiki.)

Cards for ladies in power! Jia, the consul, gets circumspection since she’s a careful politician, Camille gets cold-heartedness, Lily ambition, and Imogen Herondale (remember when that was the first time we heard the name Herondale?), the Inquisitor, gets Justine Shall Be Done.

Magisterium

I just finished reading the ARC of your newest series with Holly Black. I gotta say I’m sooooo excited for more! Loved it!! — v-e-r-t-e-b-r-a-t-e

Thanks! I put this up here for Holly to read it. Also I thought I’d start intro-ing some of the character designs that Cassandra Jean did. Meet Call, our grumpy protagonist, and his pet, Havoc, a wolf with a secret.

Ace and five of steles
Have you released the ace and five of steles from the tarot card set. I just scrolled through all of cassandrajp’s posts and she was always really good to reblog them all but I didn’t see them.

Here you go! I do think I’ve posted them but maybe I didn’t tag them. Cecily Herondale and Gabriel Lightwood make up the ace of steles, and the five of steles is Clary and Simon, the scene where she marks him with the Mark of Cain.

"frozeninstruments said: Hello Cassie! I’m looking forward to the first book of TDA and Magisterium series, now that TMI is over. :’) I see that you’ve been posting TDA snippets lately… can you share some snippets from Magisterium?"
I will soon! I’m letting the post-CoHF hangover wear off first. Right now you can read the prologue and first chapter of Iron Trial here. And here is the upload of the full cover. The poem on the back is called the Cinquain — it’s part of the rules of the alchemical magic of the Magisterium. Each element has a purpose and each balances another.
Cassandra Jean’s also drawn the characters of the Iron Trial and I look forward to showing them to you!

Flower cards for friendship and loyalty. Clary and Simon. I’m going to miss them!

Counting down to this, our last TMI Tuesday before City of Heavenly Fire comes out!
This #TMITuesday hold onto your headphones because we are sharing an exclusive audiobook excerpt from #COHF.

AND… it gets even better! The clip features one of #COHF’s two incredibly talented audiobook narrators – SOPHIE TURNER. You probably know her best as Sansa Stark from HBO’s @GameOfThronesbut after listening to this you may just want her to read all your books to you!
Check it out now at

And above, as we wind down to the end of Cassandra Jean’s postcards for City of Heavenly Fire…Jace burns with heavenly fire. Luke reaches out to his sister, Amatis, dressed in red gear. And Alec holds his own sister.
See you on the other side, Shadowhunters…

Michael, Robert, Maryse, and Hodge. The haunted older generation of the Mortal Instruments! Done as flower cards by Cassandra Jean.
