Come see us at the LA Times Book Festival!
trying-tobehappy asked you:
Hi, when you came to Sydney last year and did the autograph signing/ball there was one question you got asked from a member of the audience which went along the lines of ‘I have no idea who you are and I only came tonight so I could get laid’ if I recall correctly. I was wondering, what did you do with the note the question was written on? If memory serves me, you said you would keep it and put it on your fridge but I could be wrong.

Why, yes, here it is.

You think I don’t keep these things? I SO DO.

“We’re pretty confident in saying that the only place you’ll find a more stacked lineup of YA authors than this year’s YALLFest is the teen section of your local Barnes & Noble. Because for the second annual meet-up dedicated to all things young adult, organizers Margaret Stohl, Pseudonymous Bosch and Melissa de la Cruz (pictured) are welcoming 48 authors—25 of them New York Times bestsellers. And guess what? We have the EXCLUSIVE lineup for you to scrutinize!
Keep reading after the jump to see if your favorite writer will make an appearance in South Carolina…
Literary Friendships is the theme, so it’s only fitting that “Mortal Instruments” author Cassandra Clare and “Spiderwick Chronicles” author Holly Black (real-life BFFs, duh) will deliver the keynote speech on that very topic. And, of course, there will be plenty of panels, events and performances to warm your literature-loving hearts.
YALLFest takes place in Charleston, SC, on November 9 and 10. Be sure to check the official YALLFest website for all the details.”
Yes, it’s true. I’m going to South Carolina with Holly. You heard it here first.

singing signing
“youhadason asked you:
Your post about your signing in Wales where you spelled it “singing” made me wonder what a singing signing would be like?”
It would be like a Clave meeting with Will, only instead of him bursting into song, we would all have to sing about him.
Will, Will, you are so brill
You drive us all demented,
There is no one as gorgeous as you
And nobody so tormented!
Then we would throw rubber ducks at each other until forced to leave by the authorities.
I’ll be in Wales on June 2, signing
I almost wrote “singing” — that would not be anything anyone wanted to experience.
I’ll be at the Hay on Wye Book Festival (Hay on Wye being only the most amazing town in the world which is basically ALL BOOKSTORES and they have a fabulous yearly author festival.) Hay is in South Wales — I’ll be signing (not singing) City of Lost Souls and reading from CoLS and Clockwork Princess.
All the info:
http://www.hayfestival.com/p-4310-cassandra-clare.aspx
I should have more UK dates soon. After Hay, I’m heading up North to tromp around Will’s hometown for research background. Herondale Manor, I will track you down!
