Jonathan and Clary Morgenstern from “The Mortal Instruments” series by @cassieclare

My english isn’t perfect, so I hop you will understand my thought behind the artwork.

*might include spoilers*

It was inspired by a few songs:
*”Hysteria” by Muse
*”Save Me” by Globus
*”curl up and die” by Relient k
*”The Horror of Our Love” by Ludo
and finally, “Animal I have become” by Three Days Grace -which influenced me the most.

I think that Jonathan is the most human character in TMI. It might sound weird, but I really relate to him. I don’t think he is bad or evil, and I don’t think that he is acting the way he is just because of the demon blood inside him. The consequence of his life made him the way he is. his own mother abandoned him. his father, the one person in the world that he wanted to impress, denied him. Valentine blamed Jonathan for being the reson the love of his life left. he even liked better to pretend that Jace was his son. but even though, Jonathan yearned for his attention and to be recognized by him. and then he died.

I think that Clary can see spot of light in him. and while reading TMI, I felt like he needs her. 
she is his silver lining. his savior. his redemption.

Yeah, they’re not wrong. :) George has a great voice. I love the way he says “amazing balloon rides.” And did I mention was stuck in a service elevator with me and Sarah? :)

So I got it in my head this morning to draw this scene. Where Valentine tells Sebastian why his mother is gone. I wanted it to be authentic so I got @CassieClare to write the dialog!
